It's Been A While

Kelsie got her ears pierced on saturday. She did so awesome. I thought that she would be more sore and whiney, but even right after they did it she felt fine and slept on her side with no apparent discomfort. They are absolutely adorable. Now she is sporting her 14K gold earrings.(That's right. We don't want any boy to be able to afford her) My best friend of 15 years, Jesica came with me to pierce Kelsie's ears. Lately AZ has been getting some rain. This a beautiful rainbow we saw while driving in the middle of construction a few weeks ago. Kelsie got to try her first rice cereal about 2 weeks ago. She really likes it. Just a few pictures to show how adorable Kelsie is. She is trying to crawl. Right now all she can do is a slow army crawl, but it gets her where she wants to go.

Aventuras Dos Carlsons!!

This is a short explaination of where we have been for the past 2 1/2 weeks. We took two trips. Our journey starts with the most recent trip Portland, OR. I was kind of bummed that it didn't rain while we were there(go figure it rained in Arizona while we were gone). Can't we ever catch a break? Oh well, I guess the sunshine just follows Kelsie wherever she goes. I know we already put pictures of Scott and Estelle's wedding on here but I tried to put some better pictures that show Estelle's face (by request). Estelle's dress was so pretty. Her mom made her dress. Isn't that amazing? Congrats to the newleyweds who are now honeymooning in Italy! The reception was so fun but a little too chilly for this Arizonan family. We stayed in Hoodriver, OR. It is a beautiful little community along the Columbia Gorge. We bunked out with Lynn and Roseanne and the rest of Scott's family. Fun times! This is a band we saw play in Hoodriver's family night at the park. I have to say that I think red pleather is coming back in. I think this expression on Hans's face lets us all know what he thinks of the red pants. "I believe in miracles! Where you from, you sexy thing?" We rode bikes in Vancouver along the Columbia River. Kelsie fell alseep the last stretch of our ride. What a darling. Austin Texas (16 hour drive) was the first trip on the Tour De Carlsons to see Dave and Val (Hans's Aunt and Uncle). We really don't have any pictures from it but we loved getting to spend a few days with them. Kelsie loved all the attention that she got. We then went to Norman, Oklahoma (5 hour drive from Austin) for my dad's suprise 50th B-Day party (the real suprise is that it wasn't really his B-Day, his B-Day is Sept. 20th). But since the whole family including R.J and Ashley who live in Germany could be in Oklahoma we decided to do it then. We also celebrated my parents 30th anniversary with a commemorative video (beautifully put together by Alethia and Joe). Way to keep the love alive mom and dad. It was so great to see all the family. I wish that we did not live so far away from everyone, but I guess that is life. We had a 18 hour drive home. Two hours were spent waiting out a storm that had flooded the I-40 just outside of Oklahoma city. Kelsie did so great. She really is a Trooper. Dad a few years back. Emarie and Darron are excited to suprise grandpa. This is the amazing horses rear end B-Day cake. But alas (no spanish pun intended here) we did not eat any of it. Not too much of a let down if you think about it. It was so nice to see R.J and Ashley too. Kelsie is in the background of this picture playing with grandma and grandpa.
